SOUTHERN LABEL COMPANY now offers the benefits of transferring all your art files to our Art Department via FTP (File Transfer Protocol).

What is FTP for?
FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. FTP software allows you to copy files from your local computer to your web site or vice-versa.

When would you want to use FTP software?
You may want to use FTP Software to upload a Illustrator file, .jpg, .eps, .pdf or a .tiff file
to our Art Department.

How to use FTP software:
We recommend the following programs:
FREE FTP Software FileZilla (FREE)
FileZilla is open source software distributed free of charge under the terms of the GNU General Public License.
WS_FTP
CuteFTP
CyberDuck (Mac OS X)

Do you want to transfer files securely?
To send sensitive information you can transfer files using Secure FTP. Secure FTP provides encrypted channels for transferring files to and from customer Web sites.

How to use Secure FTP:
The third party applications that we have recommended above also support the Secure FTP protocol. You may also use the same FTP Server/Host Address and our FTP user name and password that you can obtain from our Art Department.
We recommend the following free program:
FREE FTP Software FileZilla (FREE): select the “SFTP – SSH File Transfer Protocol” option.


How to set upload files using FTP
FTP can be used to upload your files to Southern Label Company Art Department. There are several different FTP software packages available, but the more common ones include FileZilla (FREE), Fetch 5.5 (MAC)WS_FTPCuteFTP and CyberDuck (Mac OS X).

Before you begin uploading your files, you will need to configure your FTP software to work with Southern Labels Hosting Client. You will need the following information to configure the FTP client:

* Host Name/Address – This can be obtain by contacting our Art Department.
* Host type – Always select auto-detect
* Username/UserID – FTP username which is assigned by the Art Department.
* Password – FTP password which is assigned by the Art Department.

Note: If you upload files that have the same name as files already on the server, the files on the server will be overwritten.
Files are active as soon as you upload them to our server.
